End-user licence agreement
This is the licence for using Voxbound. It sits alongside the terms of sale (which cover buying it) and the refund and withdrawal policy (which cover cancelling or refunding it).
Who this agreement is between
This agreement is between A Ford, trading as Voxbound ("we", "us"), and you, the person or organisation who installs, activates or uses the Voxbound software ("you"). By installing, activating or using Voxbound, you agree to it. If you don't agree, don't install or use the software, and see the refund and withdrawal policy for your options before you do.
What your licence lets you do
A standard Voxbound licence lets you install and use the app on your own devices, for your own private, non-business purposes, under the licence key issued to you when you buy it. The licence is personal to you, non-exclusive and non-transferable: you can't hand it, sell it or lend it to someone else. One licence key can be activated on up to five devices, as described under licence keys, activation and rechecking.
Business and organisation use
The standard licence covers personal, private use. Any use by or for a business, charity, public body, client project, or other organisation or revenue-generating activity needs a separate business licence. If that's you, contact support@voxbound.app before you use Voxbound that way.
What you can't do
Beyond what's licensed above, you may not:
- redistribute, resell, rent, lease or sublicense the software or your licence key;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, except to the limited extent a law that can't be excluded by this agreement expressly allows it;
- remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or licence notice in the software;
- use Voxbound, or anything derived from it, to build or improve a competing product;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with the licence activation system.
Ownership
Voxbound, and all copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property in it, belong to us or our licensors. Buying a licence gives you the right to use the software on the terms above — it doesn't transfer any ownership of it to you.
FFmpeg and other third-party components
Voxbound bundles FFmpeg, licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) v2.1 or later, and invokes it as a separate program rather than linking against it. FFmpeg and any other third-party component we bundle are licensed under their own terms, not this agreement. Licence keys, activation and rechecking
Your licence key is issued and checked through Gumroad's licensing service. Activating Voxbound needs an internet connection; once activated, the app works offline and rechecks your key roughly every seven days when it has a connection. If a key is refunded, charged back, disputed or disabled, that copy is deactivated on the next check; being offline doesn't deactivate a working copy by itself. A key can be active on up to five devices at once. Voxbound doesn't read hardware identifiers (such as a motherboard serial number) to enforce this.
Updates and support
We may release updates to Voxbound from time to time; an activated, licensed copy can check for and install them from inside the app. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis by email at support@voxbound.app — we don't guarantee a specific response time.
No warranty, and your statutory rights
Voxbound is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose beyond what we say about it on this site. This doesn't affect any right you have as a consumer that the law doesn't let us exclude, including the right to a repair, replacement or refund if the software is faulty, not fit for purpose or not as described — see the refund and withdrawal policy.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim arising from this agreement or your use of Voxbound is limited to the amount you paid for your licence, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this agreement limits or excludes any liability that can't lawfully be limited or excluded, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Termination
This licence ends automatically if you materially breach it and don't put that right within a reasonable time of us telling you, or if your licence key is validly deactivated as described under activation. When it ends, you must stop using Voxbound and delete your copies of it. Ending the licence doesn't affect any right or remedy either of us already had at that point.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales, without taking away any mandatory consumer-protection right you have under the law of the country where you live.
Changes to this agreement
We may update this agreement from time to time; the current version is always at this page, dated above. If we make a change that materially reduces your rights, we'll say so clearly here.
