Repair and verify checks an M4B you already have against a profile, and can replace its chapters with a corrected list without re-encoding the audio.

Do I need FFmpeg or Python installed?

No. FFmpeg is bundled, so there's nothing else to download.

Which formats can it read and write?

It reads MP3, M4A, M4B, AAC, FLAC and WAV. It exports a chaptered M4B, the same book as an M4A for players that don't open .m4b files, a single MP3, or one MP3 per chapter.

Will the files work in Apple Books and Audiobookshelf?

Yes. Pick a player profile and Voxbound conforms the codec, sample rate, chapters and cover to it, then validates the finished file.

Are my audio files uploaded anywhere?

No. Voxbound merges your audio on your PC. It goes online only for your licence and updates, to count a free trial once when its first book begins, and to look up a book's details or send feedback when you ask it to.

Is it a subscription?

No. Buy it once; it's yours to keep. After a one-time online activation, it works offline.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Install Voxbound from voxbound.app/download and choose Try one book free. You can make one complete audiobook, with chapters, tags, cover art and a player profile. The batch queue, watch folder, folder scan, manifest import, repair, tag updates and the command line need a licence. There's one free trial per Windows account.

Why pay when there are free tools?

Because everything happens in one window, with no command line to learn. Drop in a folder and Voxbound puts the files in order, names the chapters and fills in the book's details from the folder name. Pick your player's profile and it checks the finished book against it. Loudness normalisation, silence trimming, a chapter editor and a queue for a whole shelf of books are there when you want them. The free trial lets you make one complete book first. How do I activate it?

Paste the licence key from your Gumroad receipt on the Activate Voxbound screen, or during the free trial in Settings. One key works on up to three of your PCs. Activation is a one-time online step; after that, Voxbound works offline.

Will Windows warn me when I install it?

It may. Voxbound isn't code-signed yet, so Windows can show "Windows protected your PC" the first time you run it. Click More info, check that the file is the one you downloaded, then click Run anyway. The download page explains every warning you might see.

Can I use Voxbound for commercial work?

The standard licence covers personal use. For business or client work you need a business licence: email support@voxbound.app first.

Does it run on macOS or Linux?

A Mac version is coming soon: get an email when it's ready. Today Voxbound runs on Windows 10 and 11; there's no Linux version. A licence covers one platform, so a licence bought now is for Voxbound on Windows. If your Audiobookshelf server runs on Linux or in Docker, run Voxbound on a Windows PC and copy the finished books across.
